Ben Roethlisberger (PIT): 36/50 356 yards 2TD INT – Big Ben attempted 50 passes in the impressive win over the Patriots. Has been on a tare for about the last 3 weeks and shows no signs of letting up. Divisional matchup next week against the Ravens will be a tough matchup for Ben but one he is very familiar with.
Chris Johnson (TEN): 14 carries 34 yards / 3 catch 17 yards – This lackluster performance was the last straw for Cj2K, he was once again outplayed by Javone Ringer and failed to rush for 50 yards on 14 carries against the Colts awful run defence.
Knowshon Moreno (DEN): 14 carries 69 yards / 1 catch 5 yards – The Broncos were man handled by the Lions and QB Tim Tebow struggled all game long giving Moreno very limited opportunity.
Demaryius Thomas (DEN): 1 catch 10 yards – Tim Tebow’s awful game can be largely to blame for Thomas’s one catch game. Thomas should be back on the waiver wire until Tebow proves he doesn’t suck.
Antonio Brown (PIT): 9 catches 67 yards TD – Finally caught the TD catch we had all been waiting for since preseason. Brown also saw a team high in targets, very good news moving forward.
Fred Davis (WAS): 8 catches 94 yards – Another great game for Davis, hauling in 8 catches for almost 100 yards. Suffered a minor ankle sprain in the loss so check his status through the week.
Joe Flacco (BAL): 31/51 for 336 yards INT FUMBLE / 4 carries 15 yards – Threw the ball 51 damn times but was unable to score a TD; he was able to throw a INT and lose a fumble though. After this outing and the Monday Night loss to Jacksonville, I have very little faith in Joe Flacco. Flacco’s turnovers in his own end are hurting the value of his defence as well.
Ben-Jarvis Green-Ellis (NE): 5 carries 9 yards – Kevin Faulk was activated off the PuP list and was a surprise performer for the Pats on Sunday carrying the ball a team high 6 times and also adding 20 yards in the passing game. Looks like Faulk will have a large role in the rushing game moving ahead.
De’Angelo Williams (CAR): 7 carries 26 yards / 2 catch 13 yards – Cam Newton carried the ball 6 times for 53 yards, Jon Stewart carried 13 times for 49 yards while Williams was left with only 7 carries totalling 26 yards. I wouldn’t be starting either Jon or De’Angelo with much confidence anytime soon with the massive timeshare going on.
Sydney Rice (SEA): 7 catches 102 yards – After coming in midway through the 2nd quarter, Tavaris Jackson threw for over 300 yards in the Seahawks loss to the Bengals. The yards didn’t result in many points but gave Sydney Rice a good fantasy outing with 100 yards.
Andy Dalton (CIN): 18/29 for 168 yards 2TD 2INT – Finished with a modest yardage total but was once again able to lead the Bengals to a win while throwing 2 TD’s. He also added 2 INT’s, however AJ Green could be to blame for one.
John Beck (WAS): 20/33 for 208 yards 2INT / 3 carries 10 yards – Beck and the Redskins were shut out by the Bills, beck completed a good percentage of his throws for just over 200 yards but was picked off twice by the active secondary of the Bills. A very rough effort after his week 7 start, but I still believe he can be serviceable fantasy QB in the future.
Roy Helu (WAS): 3 catches 20 yards – The Redskins were playing catchup most of the game, meaning Beck was throwing, giving Helu very limited opportunities to gather yards behind Ryan Torain.
Ben Tate (HOU): 5 rush 42 yards – Was able to gain an impressive 42 yards on only 5 carries. Not enough sharing going on here for Tate to have much value; Foster had 33 carries.
Pierre Thomas (NO): 7 rush 23 yards TD / 4 carries 11 yards – Was not the lights out game for the Saints we were all expecting a thy lost 31-21, even being shut out in the first half. Thomas was however able to gain over 30 yards while adding a fantasy day saving TD.
Emmanuel Sanders (PIT): 5 catches 70 yards – Didn’t catch a TD but still had a solid effort with 5 catches for 70 yards on double digit targets. Tough match up this week against Baltimore but showed what he can do when given the chance.
Jason Hill (JAX): 1 catch 5 yards TD – his one and only catch on the day for a TD saved Hill’s game; not much value here.
Braylon Edwards (SF): 4 catches 42 yards – Got a surprising 7 targets on the day, hauling in 4 of them for 42 yards, including a very nice diving catch. With such an impressive first game back from injury he may get right back into the swing of things.
Injuries (Check the status of these players!): Lamar Woodley (PIT) – James Farrior (PIT) – Hakeem Nicks (NYG) – Ahmad Bradshaw (NYG) – Montario Hardesty (CLE) – Fred Davis (WAS) – Ryan Mathews (SD) – Darryl Sharpton (TEN) – Michael Jenkins (MIN) – Kevin Kolb (ARZ) –
