Week 9 Byes: Panthers Jaguars, Lions, Vikings

Start em:

Eli Manning (NYG): Manning has been a top 10 QB thus far this year and I don’t expect that to change this weekend when he plays New England in what is likely to be a high scoring game. New England’s secondary has been very giving to QB’s this season and Eli is sure to continue that trend.

Philip Rivers (SD): Rivers has been struggling week after week this year and I am still waiting for him to get out of his funk. This week against Green Bay presents a great chance for Rivers to get his throwing game back on track. Green Bay scores a ton of points and also allows a ton of points so Rivers should be able to throw a couple of TD’s.

Jackie Battle (KC): Jackie Battle has been a great discovery for the Chiefs ever since Jamaal Charles went down with a season ending injury. This week KC plays Miami who has a pretty good rush defence, Battle should however get a lot of touches in this game giving him plenty of chances for yards and a TD.

LaGarrette Blount (TB): Blount is coming back from an injury and has also had a bye week to help him heal. Earnest Graham is out for the year which should give Blount an even larger role in the Buccs offence. Blount gets to run against the Saints defence this weekend who have trouble stopping power runners.

Julio Jones (ATL): Jones has missed a few weeks now with an injury but is now back and ready for action, after a bye week no less. With teams focussing so hard on Roddy White I wouldn’t be surprised if Julio Jones finished with a TD.

Brandon Lloyd (STL): Lloyd has been fairly productive since becoming a Ram three weeks ago and this week will likely have Sam Bradford back under centre slinging balls. If Feeley starts, we know that they can connect, if Bradford starts expect him to look for his newest WR often.

Victor Cruz (NYG): The Giants play the Pats who, like I’ve said countless times is a very very soft secondary. Manning should be able to throw for multiple TDs in the match up and I like the young explosive Victor Cruz to haul one in.

Owen Daniels (HOU): Houston plays Cleveland this weekend, a team very tough to throw the ball against. Cleveland will likely try to stop Arian Foster and use star CB Joe Haden to shadow whoever is starting as the #1 WR. This should leave the middle of the field available for Schaub and Daniels to connect and keep drives going.

Sit em:

Josh Freeman (TB): Tampa Bay beat the Saints earlier this year and the Saints also just lost to the Rams. I expect the Saints to have some revenge in mind when they play the Buccs once again. Blount will likely be a focal point of the buccs offence, limiting Freeman’s chances, also I expect the Saints secondary to be more active.

Tim Tebow (DEN): Denver is on the road to Oakland for a divisional matchup. I expect Tebow to play better than his week 8 effort against the Lions, but I still think he will struggle completing passes. If he has a good fantasy down

Rashard Mendenhall (PIT): Baltimore is a tough team to run against and Pits has been rather effective throwing the ball lately with the young weapons that Big Ben has to use. I’m not expecting more than 60-70 yards from Mendy with a possible touchdown.

Ryan Torain / Roy Helu (WAS): Washington backfield is always chaotic, and with the signing of Tashard Choice, it gets even worse. With the massive inconsistency here I would just stay away, period.

Reggie Wayne (IND): The Colts don’t score many points these days with Curtis Painter under centre, and he has made Pierre Garcon a more viable fantasy option than Reggie Wayne. I don’t expect the Colts to get much going against surging Falcons.

Steve Johnson (BUF): Buffalo has a tough matchup this weekend against the Jets; Steve Johnson has an even tougher one against Darrelle Revis. Fitzpatrick will need to use WR’s David Nelson, Donald Jones, TE Scott Chandler and even RB Fred Jackson in order to keep the chains moving.
