Deep Sleepers:

Rex Grossman (WAS): The Redskins get the Giants this week after playing the Patriots last week. The Giants give up about as many yards as the Patriots (the most in the league). Once again Grossman will be able to put up impressive numbers in what is likely to be a losing effort.

Jake Locker (TEN): Locker replaced Matt Hasselbeck last week late in the first quarter and played quite well in his absence. By the end of the game Locker had thrown for 282 yards and a TD. Locker has a cannon for an arm and has been able to watch and learn from the veteran Hasselbeck. IF, key word IF Locker starts in place of Hasselbeck I expect him to be able to put up some good numbers.

Kevin Smith (DET): Smith has been practising consistently this week which is a great sign he will be starting come Sunday against Oakland. Oakland has been terrible against the run in recent weeks and will give Smith a great chance at 100+ yards and a TD; start Smith if you have him.

Ben Tate (HOU): Another great matchup for the Texans offensive line and RBs. Carolina has given up the second most fantasy points to RBs this season which should allow Houston to split carries between Tate and Foster effectively. Houston is without Schaub still and will take every opportunity to run this game into the ground.

James Jones (GB): With Greg Jennings likely out until the Packers play in the playoffs, Green Bay will be spreading the ball out more to players like Jones, Driver and Cobb while Jordy Nelson acts as the #1. In the past Jones has had a bit of problems with dropped passes but also making some huge plays. His combinaton of explosiveness, experience and big play ability could make him a decent flex play.

Demaryius Thomas (DEN): In Denver’s last couple of wins, Tebow has been able to contribute with a decent throwing game. His favorite target as easily been Demaryius Thomas, who has over 200 yards and 3 TDs in the Broncos last two wins. If Tebow and the Broncos want to have a chance against the Patriots they are going to need to be able to throw the ball and put up points.

Jake Ballard (NYG): Coming of a 4 catch 52 yard and a TD game against Dallas which involved a fourth quarter comeback. This weekend the Giants play the Redskins in a game I imagine will involve a lot of yards and points, similar to the Pats/Skins game from last weekend. Ballard has a good chance to haul in a TD if your hard up for a TE.

Hope you enjoyed my Deep Sleepers for Week 15 of the 2011-2012 season!
