Houston Texans -3.0 @ Baltimore Ravens
In late October last season the Texans played the Ravens and stomped them 43-13 in Houston. There are some big differences to this game with it being played in Baltimore and with Baltimore having a much different lineup, but I still think the result is a win for Houston. The Texans run game is one of the best in the league with Arian Foster leading the attack and Ben Tate running for over 8 yards per carry as a backup. I see the Houston offence being able to move the ball more consistently against the Baltimore defence, while the Texans defence stymies Baltimore. Texans -3.0.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ New England Patriots -7.5
Both of these teams have been underperforming this season despite the Patriots being 2-0. The Pats have just snuck out two wins against weak division opponents while the Buccs lost to the same Jets as well as a close one against the Saints last weekend. While I do think that the Pats will be able to sneak out another close win at home against the Buccs, I don’t see them doing it by 8 points without Rob Gronkowski. Buccaneers +7.5.
Cleveland Browns @ Minnesota Vikings -8.0
This one just might be the lock of the week despite the 8-point spread. As everyone knows the Browns have traded star running back Trent Richardson to the Indianapolis Colts and are punting this season. The Vikings on the other hand have actually looked somewhat impressive in a pair of losses to Detroit and the Bears. Ponder has been serviceable and Adrian Peterson still runs like a stud. With that said I think the demoralized Browns lose by double-digits in Minnesota. Vikings -8.0.
Detroit Lions @ Washington Redskins -2.5
A couple of reasons why I like the Lions to beat Washington: The Tigers high-powered offence will be a handful for the awful Washington defence, Robert Griffin will likely continue to struggle against a strong Detroit defensive line, and the Lions are a very up and down team I just think has an up week. Calvin Johnson has a monster game. Lions +2.5.
Indianapolis Colts +10.0 @ San Francisco 49’ers
This spread really surprised me when I first looked at it. Didn’t the Colts just get a new star running back? Are Vegas expecting San Fran to play at home the way Seattle did against them? I just don’t see the 49’ers winning this game by double-digits. Andrew Luck is still the best quarterback of last years quarteback class and is an excellent fourth quarter player incase the Colts do find themselves down big late in the game. Colts +10.0.
Best of Luck Everyone!
