Week Nine Result: 2-3

After Nine Weeks: 16-28-1

Kansas City Chiefs -3.5 @ Buffalo Bills: KC 23 – 13 BUF, WIN

The Bills actually played a pretty good game for the most part against the Chiefs defence, but a Sean Smith interception that he took back 100 yards for a touchdown and an 11-yard fumble return touchdown from Tamba Hali sealed the deal in this one. The Bills were up 10-3 at the half, but only managed one field goal in the second half of the game while the Chiefs score the pair of defensive touchdowns and a pair of field goals for a 10-point win and the cover.

Philadelphia Eagles @ Oakland Raiders -2.5: PHI 49 – 20 OAK, LOSS

The Eagles looked like the home team in this one as they poured it on early and often as they decimated the Raiders defence. By now everyone has likely heard that quarterback Nick Foles tied an NFL record as he threw for seven touchdowns in the game (in the first three quarters to be accurate). The Eagles offence was unstoppable in this game, but despite the success that Foles had, he has still not been named the team’s starter for the rest of the season.

Baltimore Ravens -2.5 @ Cleveland Browns: BAL 18 – 24 CLE, LOSS

Jason Campbell played better than Joe Flacco in this one, throwing for three touchdowns to Flacco’s two while Willis McGahee and Ray Rice were both awful on the ground. The big difference between Rice and McGahee in this one was that the Browns committed to giving Willis the ball the entire game as he had 21 carries where as Rice was only handed the ball 11 times while averaging 1.5 yards per carry. I am in the camp that believes giving the massive contract to Joe Flacco was not money well spent and the Ravens are now weaker are many other positions.

New Orleans Saints @ New York Jets +6.5: NO 20 – 26 NYJ, WIN

The Saints lived up to their expectation of a team that struggles when playing outdoors, and even more so when heading out east. Both teams were struggling to get their offences going until the Jets scored a pair of touchdowns with less than three minutes to go in the first half to make it a 20-14 game for the Jets. Offences continued to struggle in the second half, as both team were only able to muster a pair of field goals each. In 2013 the Jets have won on every odd numbered week while losing on every even week.

Atlanta Falcons +7.5 @ Carolina Panthers: ATL 10 – 34 CAR, LOSS

The Panthers continue to look like one of the better teams in football while the Falcons season looks like it is officially over. Matt Ryan threw three more interceptions in the outing while Jaquizz Rodgers put the ball on the ground for another turnover. Seven penalties for 59 yards didn’t help the Falcons out either. The Panthers on the other hand played another solid game at home, while they did turn the ball over twice themselves, they made it extremely hard for Matt Ryan and company to move the ball for all four quarters. The Panthers do however have one of the hardest schedules in football coming up. The have the ‘49ers and Patriots the next two weeks and still need to play the Saints twice.
